Today’s employment market and schools are increasingly demanding higher levels of language skills and competencies. More and more, employers now require language skills to be at a particular level. The question is how do you actually find out the current level of your language skills?

The answer seems quite obvious, as there are many types of international exams available in various languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish etc., plus there are many different types of exams. If we look solely at the English language, then the exams on offer include Cambridge, IELTS, BULATS, TOEIC, TOEFL, the state language exam or specialized exams…

So it is not so easy to select an exam specifically to verify your language skills and competencies and to properly prepare for it. This year you will have the opportunity to participate in a project entitled Czech Republic Speaks English which will offer English language testing to the general public.

The testing, organized by ETS, will be conducted in numerous language schools and institutions throughout the Czech Republic. The selection of exams will include TOEIC listening and reading, TOEFL junior and TOEIC Bridge supplied by ETS. Testing is free and each participant will receive a certificate of participation in the project with an evaluation of their current language level. Testing will take place in the last week of November.

Another advantage is that the project has received accreditation from the Ministry of Education. The exam can serve as proof of your language skills for your employer, or it can be the basis for selecting an appropriate language course or international exam for a certain level. Finally, included in the testing is an exam designed for children, so the whole family can be tested.
