Přísloví v různých jazycích jsou často diametrálně odlišná, přesto v rámci dané kultury, jejího sociálního a historického kontextu, vystihují naprosto stejný význam. Představují tak pravdu skrytou za symbolickou formou, která se přenáší z generace na generaci bez pozorovatelné degenerace obsahu. Přísloví tvoří součást národní tradice, která lidem od malička pomáhá se vstřebáním základních morálních a lidských hodnot. Znáte nějaká anglická přísloví?
